A month has almost past since my arrival in NYC and as you all know, it is one of the fashion capitals of the world, therefore, rarely a day goes by without seeing someone dressed in a unique way. Well, I have been doing some trend spotting myself, and one of the thousands of things I noticed in this chic city, is that camouflage texture is truly “in” this season! I think it’s great that people are daring with their fashion sense, wearing such a texture, which is great for both the summer and winter! I must admit that I adore anything that has a camo texture. Having drifted in and out of style over the past years, it has once again come back as one of the fashionistas’ favorites, and is now all over the fashion magazines!
I absolutely love Olivia Angariusson’s off-catwalk look from Stockholm Streetstyle! I find her original camo jacket to be extremely stylish and I suggest you buy a similar one for this season because I can promise you, that other than the fact that you won’t regret it, you won’t pass unnoticed. She made a smart choice when deciding to match her jacket with a simple black dress! Try to follow her lead, and avoid wearing bold prints under camo, and just take it easy with a simple color, to make sure the camo texture truly sticks out!
Hanne Gaby Odiele at the Valentino Couture backstage, going back to basics with a very straight forward camo jacket! Great outfit.
Mar by Marc Jacobs outfits.
Nonetheless, even though they are better for the fall and winter seasons, camo pants are as edgy and useful as camo jackets! Above, Cheryl Cole rocking her Paige Camouflage Jeans, sold exclusively at Selfridges, London.
As Kat Collings said on Who What Wear, “Camouflage is surprisingly versatile. It can look edgy, feminine, or polished depending on how you style it.
So, happy styling, The Style Saviour followers!
